Constant sweating undiagnosed

by HarryK8, Apr 17, 2008 08:15PM
My wife sweats constantly.  In the coldest weather she is feeling hot and sweating, no energy.
Here is a little of her medical past.
2003 Thyroid cancer detected and thyroid removed.  Cancer had not spread and was not a fast growing type.
1997 Hysterectomy due to a cyst.
2000 Visited the tropics and returned with a myserious illness that left her almost conpletely paralysed from the the shoulders down. a couple of bright red spots appeared on her feet and shoulders but the pathology of these proved nothing.
About this time she was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
It was shortly after this that the sweating began.
She is 51 years of age and has a history of severe sexual abuse from her easliest memories to about 16 years of age.
We have been to counless Doctors. Endochrinologists, Phychaitrists, natural therapies that promise the earth and deliver nothing.
Jayne has had numberous suicide attemps as she can no longer bear her bedridden lifestyle.
PLEASE HELP

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. I really am. It's great that she's got a husband who so badly wants to help! The sweating sounds like a thyroid thing. I was watching some TV show recently that featured a woman who sweat constantly and they found it had something to do with low thyroid function (I'm embarrassed to say that I think it was an episode of Dr. Phil or Oprah, I forget which). 51 is so young to have gone through all of that. Is she on anti-depressants? I think that could help her.
