Kyphoplasty on 26y/o

by icufromnc, Apr 17, 2008 11:56PM
I had a 14foot fall and had trauma to my L4/L3 vert. I have the dual compressed FX, with about 15-20% loss of height in both. We have talked about doing kyphoplasty, which my neurosurgeon has performed before on a young a patient. Since the procedure is not designed for people my age, the surgeon and I are swaying towards not doing it. I am being referred to a pain management clinic, and still classified as acute pain, I have only been on hydrocondone for 4 1/2 months. Does anyone have case studies or recommendations, on kyphoplasty on young adults? I also have a pinched nerve @L5. Will talk about a nerve block next week.
