This egg shaped bumped could have been a superficial soft tissue swelling or a hematoma. It is possible that through time during the healing process, the area has fibrosed (scarred) thus the lump may still be felt .
Is there any tenderness over the lump? Any redness or discoloration over the area?
You may have this assessed by your physician since the lump may be overlying a nerve and may cause referred pain which may cause the headache.
