6 SPECIALISTS & NO DIAGNOSIS

by TampaTeddy, Apr 18, 2008 03:45PM
Ct scans and x-rays are clear and my blood work could not look any better, yet 6 specialists are unable to figure it out. I am a healthy and athletic 45-year-old male. About 6 moths ago out of the blue for no apparent reason, I developed difficulty breathing and felt horrible for about 3 days.

My throat had that lump feeling in it, and swallowing was slightly difficult. I went to my doctor who performed a checkup & x-rays but could not find a problem. He sent me to a lung specialist that sent me to a heart specialist that sent me to an ENT. More x-rays, ct scans & blood work but everything was fine. I go to an internal specialist that says I'm beyond human but gives me Xanax in case its stress.

After the initial 3 days of hell the symptoms subsided but now come and go without the severity of the initial attack. I am going crazy. This is not only stressful when it happens, its making things worse because I'm afraid that I might have something very serious that they are not seeing. There is most definitely a problem and I'm hoping someone knows what it is.

The main symptoms that strike every few days are a slight shortness of breath, along with a tightness and lump in the throat feeling. The lump in the throat also occurs very often when I am working out, and this brings on slight difficulty breathing. I also have recently started to experience hoarseness in my voice after a workout. Many times I can tell when a bad day is coming because my lips will chap before hand and I will sometimes get a dry peeling skin around my nose. I also have started to experience a horribly bad breath on occasion and will also have a terrible body odor but only when I sweat heavily working out. The smell goes away after I cool off.

There are some other symptoms as well but the above are the main one's. This has now gone on for nearly 6 months and I can't afford any more specialists. If anyone knows what this might be I would very much appreciate your help. Please don't guess at it. I've already had enough people guessing at it. I need to know what this is or at least find a doctor that can determine what this is. Thanks for any help you can give, it is very much appreciated.
