How safe is chemo / radiation therapy?

by worriedmother76, Apr 18, 2008 05:23PM
I had gastric (stomach) cancer and doctors removed half my stomach where the cancer lived. Doctor said he took out all the cancer and the pathologist report came back negative that the cancer had spread.

Now the chemo and radiation doctors want to treat me with chemo radiation saying it will kill any cancer cells left behind even though I was told it was all taken out.

My question is, how safe is this chemo radiation treatment? Are their any major concerns I should be worried about? Is there like any risk of death associated with it?
