My daughter has Landau -Kleffner

My daughter was dianostic Landau-Kleffner, and now she is in a theraphy with cortison for 10 days. Will she be able to recuperate and be able to speak again, or the words that she can not say now , will never come back? What can I do to help her not to loose the language???..

The earlier LKS develops, the less are the chances that complete language recovery will occur. One of the problems with trying to anticipate the eventual course of the illness is the relative infrequency of it. There have simply not been sufficient numbers of cases to study. The cortecosteroid treatment does assist some children with some recovery of language skills.
