swollen lymph node- response to trauma or something scary?

by mvpie, Apr 20, 2008 11:20AM
hi all - not sure if this is the proper venue, but i have a single swollen lymph node in the groin area that became noticeable about a month ago.  my dr. did blood tests (normal) and gave me an antibiotic for a gynecological infection, hoping that the node would return to normal.  it hasn't and i'm going in for a consult this week to see whether a biopsy is necessary.

it occurred to me recently that it might be possible that the lymph node may have something to do with a fall i had about six weeks ago (slipped going down the stairs and ended up with a HUGE bruise on my butt).  the bruise has mostly faded, but there is still a large (1" by 3") painful lump in the area that was sort of the epicenter of the bruise.

is it possible that the swollen lymph node is in response to the unfortunate and ugly bruise/lump on my rear?
