dilation trauma?

by 3sMom, Apr 20, 2008 11:49AM
I was a new patient and the Dr. dilated my eyes.  I had never had this procedure done before; and was not given any instructions or sun protection glasses to wear.  So on a bright sunny day, I went home put in my contacts and drove with regular sunglasses to work and did a close-range detailed task all day.  After receiving my new contacts and glasses I am experiencing "bruising" pain in my right eye and I seem to be extremely sensitive to light; sometimes seeing a bluish glare.  I have had my contacts "cloud" after 6 hours of wear and my eyes cannot bring anything into focus.  I have brought this to the Dr's. attention but he didn't examine me to check on my vision and hasn't answered my questions.  Have I permanently damaged my eyes; how could I tell if this has happened and would this change the prescript needed to see properly?

You need to go back to the "doctor" on MOnday to see if you damaged your eye and to get answers. If your "doctor" is not an Eye MD physician ophthalmologist then see a real physician MD next time. Find one at www.aao.org
