my 9 month old has recently discovered that he can pop his jaw and does it often. Is this common or do I need to worry about it?

Does pop refer to dislocate the jaw joint? If  it is ,an collagen disease known as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome comes to my mind. Seeing medical professionals is advised.

I have been able to "pop" (not dislocate) my jaw as long as I can remember.  I am 54 yeears old now and have never ever had a problem with it.  Most people think that I should have headaches atthe very least but the poppinhg causes no pain what so ever.  It pops involuntarily when I yawn, and some times even when I eat or talk. My dentist doesn't understand it but accepts it as "normal" for me..

I would just make sure your pediatrician is aware of it so that it can monitored.

Not to worry......
