Thoracic paraspinal pain

by amanda0297, Apr 21, 2008 09:30AM
I injured myself at work over a month ago and the doctor that i went to sent me to an orthopedic surgeon.  they done x-rays and found nothing.  he said that it was "thoracic paraspinal".  Sometimes I have stiffness in my right side where it hurts and the pain sometimes is unreal.  sometimes it will be a burning sensation and other times it is a sharp pain.  there have been times when it is just a dull pain.  He prescribed me a T.E.N.S unit to use and Mobic, Ultram. and Soma.  I can't use my right side or lift anything over 5 pounds.  I can't sit for a long period of time with out it hurting.  I think it is more the a pulled muscle. this has been going on for over a month now.

Hi amanda, can I ask how did you injured yourself at work?? I think you should ask the doctor to do neuro check for you. CT scan, and see a Chiropractor. It depends on the region you feel pain as cervical has 7 veterbrae, burning sensation that you decribed it sounds like you have an impingment of nerve. Should go and check up, in the mean time I think you should ice it as cold will ease the inflamation. Cheers
