What can you do to prevent anal leakage?

by Ratnakar Kini, MD, Apr 21, 2008 07:52PM
Hi Turk7589,
Anal leakge is due to various causes. The treatment and prevention depends on the cause -
Most of the times a combination of various treatment options are tried for better results.
The options include-
Fiber therapy, opiates, anticholinergics, biofeedback and surgery. The choice of treatment depends on the cause as said earlier.

Discuss with your doctor to know about the cause of anal leakage and the most appropriate intervention for that.
