Restarting Prozac

by hitman60, Apr 21, 2008 02:53PM
I have been off Prozac for 6 months, but just a few days started it again because of major anxiety. I don't feel as anxious, but now I feel big time depressed...Has anyone had that experience in restarting a medication

hitman come on now....you only started taking it a couple days ago. I think you know the answer to your question. I am sure you know it takes a few weeks. You will feel better soon, no SSRi is a miracle drug, you are in a immediate gratification of the senses thing.

Whenever I finally take action it is hard to wait for the result. The answer will be clear very soon.

You missed the point...serotonin build up occurs with Prozac, more that other drugs because the half life is so long. My query is about whether in reintroduction to the drug can create some minor immediate changes. Some physicians say yes, curious as to others experiences.I do not appreciate patronizing answers, bro.

I will try to watch my tone. I think if you look at your question and it's wording one could understand a failure to pick up on the nuance. Maybe you could be more detailed next time. Prozac works for me and I was on multiple meds prior for several weeks. I would think that depression fits in with the resurgence of anxiety that you are experienciing after stopping the ssri. I think you are over analyzing the process, I hope that is not too harsh of a response.

I am a patron of this forum...not a patronizer.
