one but not the other?

A little over three weeks ago I had a quick bit of unprotected oral and vaginal sex with a woman who I know and trust.       A few days later I had a sore throat that subsided quickly, and I was quick to dismiss it as allergies.

About seven days ago, I noticed a single red, painless and quite small bump at the shaft of my penis around where my pubic hair stops growing.  The bump is probably the size of a small zit.  I left it alone but began to try and self diagnose myself over the internet, which has made me extremely nervous.  The bump does not hurt and has not gone away.  I thought it could be an ingrown hair as I shave my pubic hair regularly and tried to coax it out with warm water and sanitized tweezers but I didn't see anything come out.

The bump is not painless and there is no discharge from my penis, no smell, no other symptoms of an STI aside from the bump.

I've got an appointment with a doctor tomorrow, but am wondering if I should be worried of if I am only causing myself unnecessary anxiety.  Would it be possible, or likely, for me to get some type of infection on my penis from  vaginal intercourse but nothing around my mouth due to the oral sex?

Thank you.

You can get herpes genitally and not orally, but it really doesn't sound like herpes.

You probably have an infected hair follicle, and I'm glad you are getting it checked out.
