let's get this started

by franco1470, Apr 21, 2008 07:17PM
Well I started my w/d today.  I spent several days studying other peoples experiences, today I stocked up on food,
some tranks, vitamins & supplements and everything else I thought I'd need.
My schedule had been 5am and 5pm with my oxys.  Took my AM dose as I had a lot to do to get ready.   A couple of
hours ago I started feeling the ache a little bit.  Took a valium, will take one more and later a flexeril.
I should be able to get thru tonight okay, I am just getting started on this roller coaster ride.
I will probably post tomorrow or may just email some of y'all with questions.
Thanks to everybody for their encouragement.

Good for you! Today is my first day going cold turkey without Vicodin since 2004, on and off. Im going to stock up on vitamins and what not tommorow, and I know it will be tough, but we can do it! I hope it all goes well for you! I know it will.

How did you do on your first day?  keep us posted

by franco1470, Apr 22, 2008 11:23AM
So far so good.  I was able to sleep from 10.30-3.00.  Tossing and turning with my bones aching after that. Took one 5 mg percocet to take the edge off.
My body is used to 45 mg per day (2 x 20mg oxycontin, 1 x 5mg perc) so if I take 5 or 10 mg for these first days is that prolonging my w/d or just making it less painful?
Anyways I don't feel too bad yet and am still determined.

Almost any dose of any other narcotic will only prolong w/d's - - for the slight amount of benefit you pay heavily ...... and its easy to want more....tapering down is hard and takes a lot of discipline - - maybe c/t is better choice?
