Something painful in my neck

Hi, I'm a 23 year old male, and have been a smocker for about 6 years. Recently I feel there's a painful spot in the left side of my neck, not a lymph node cause it is below my lymph node and the lymph node (which I can locate) is ok. Also, that spot is not swollen, just a painful felling when I press it, and that painful feeling links to my left ear. besides, my throat is quite sore, I've been coughing of a little bit blood. I have it for about one week now. Can anyone help me to know what it is, is it cancer? thank you very much. I'm waiting for reply.

Hi. From the information you've volunteered, my guess is you have an infection in your throat which has also involved the eustachian tube. This is a canal which connects the middle ear to the throat. If it becomes infected and swollen, you'd feel it as pain on the side of your neck which radiates to the ear. It would be best to see a doctor and have that examined, so you can be given the right antibiotics.
