intercourse on cd4

I am 29 years old, had sexual intercourse on the 4th day of my menstrual cycle (being the first bleeding day the March 14 morning). I had sexual intercourse on March 17th, no ejaculation inside though. The period lasted around 7 days with light spotting. I thought I started ovulating from March 27 to April 11, since I had recurrent cervical mucus changes.
My usual cycles are 28 - 30 days from each other.
Today is the 40, so far my longest cycle.
I had a lot of stress the weeks I was supposed to be ovulating, and since my last period I lost around 5 pounds, because I got braces and my diet changed a lot.

Last week I started to have PMS-like symptoms, sharp pains on the side of my breast, small cramps and a bit of breast enlargement. The usual that I always have before any menstruation cycle.

I am usually regular at my cycles and I hardly believe that I could changed from regular to irregular less than a month.
What are my chances to have ovulated during my 4th day of menstruation, or my chances of pregnancy if there was no ejaculation?

I took 2 home pregnancy tests last Thursday and Friday, and the both came back negative.
What are my chances of a false negative?
If I take another HPT next week (6 weeks after my last period), if I were really pregnant, would it show already?

Thanks!

This discussion is related to Period 6 days late, and 3 hpt negative results..could I still be pregnant???.

**Also, since I had braces, (2 days before the intercourse), I ate only two bananas and no other fruits and I haven't eating any bread, because I can hardly chew it. I am still on denial that all those situations are causing it to be late.

I think it's a good idea to get bloodwork done if you still get a negative and no period....SOunds like you're on the right track!  It may be something else going on too, in which case it would be good to be seen!

Thanks for replying. Today I stopped having PMS-like symptoms as last week. And I haven't had any major changes that could indicate a pregnancy after those days. I started worrying now that I am 1 1/2 weeks late. Before that, I didn't even thought about it.

I will wait until end of week for another HPT. If it comes back negative and no period yet, then I'll go for a blood to have my mind at ease.

So far I'm thinking is all in my mind. And the obsession to see that red-spot everytime I go to the bathroom. Needles to day I'm dry as a bone. And never had a spotting after that day.

Althugh it COULD happen (as Motherof2girls2boys said, I would have to agree with wantingbabies in that it's pretty unlikely that you would have conceived on CD4......To answer your question, if you test 6 weeks after you last period, you should definately get an accurate answer.  Good luck

I don't know how to answer you but with my first pg I had sex on the last day of my period. He did not ejaculate in me and I ended up pg. We had split and didn't have sex for three months before this and did not have sex again for another three months so there was no question as to when I conceived. Anytime you have unprotected sex you run the risk of becoming pg. A guy always has pre-ejaculation and he cannot feel this!

It is highly unlikely that you got pregnant on cd4.  It is possible but I really doubt it, especially since the hpt is showing negative.  More than likely it is the stress and diet changes that are causing your period to be delayed.  If your period doesn't start soon, you could always see your doctor for a blood test just to be sure.
