How to move on??

by jennifer819, Apr 22, 2008 07:34PM
I was with my ex for two years when I suddenly became ill. To make a long story short I felt like he was moving away from me so I got really wasted and sent him a horrific email. He told me to never contact him again and I found my things on my front door. It has been six months since then and I cannot move on. Not a day has gone by that I don't think about him or what I did. It has become so bad that whenever I try to go out of my house to go to the store or anything I am having panic attacks because I am afraid that I will run into him or see him with another girl. How do I get over this??? I am trying to keep myself busy but it's hard when I am so sick.......going out of my mind.

I know he told you to never contact him again but I think you need closure from this relationship so I suggest writing him another email, explaining yourself, and then apologizing for your last letter.  Now, there's a 95% chance he will not respond but a 5% chance he will accept your apology so that you can move on with your life.  Even if he doesn't respond, who cares, you will have gotten a lot off your chest and your are really not intruding on him at all.  He has the option of deleting the email.  You need to apologize for what you did.  I think that is what is bothering you the most.

You won't be free of your obsession until you apologize for what you wrote to him and tell him why you felt that way.  Let him know that you don't want to get back together, that is not your goal, but rather to make amends.  At the end of the email tell him you wish him only happiness in his life.  Then, let him go.

Apologize. It is the right thing to do. You will have provided an explannation for your behavior and you will be free of the guilt, allowing you to move on with your life. Good luck to you.
