can surgery cause a fistula

by Busybee69, Apr 23, 2008 04:36PM
I had a compete colonectomy in February. Now. I am voiding in my clothes. I started wearing pads. I was told Ineeded to see an Urologist. Could I have a fistula?  Could the surgery have caused this?

Fistulas are often in Crohn's disease, maybe they can be caused by surgery, but first you need to know, if you have fistula at all. In fistula you'd probably also have urinary infection.

Only after some tests made by urologist, it could be said, if maybe some nerves, supplying urinary bladder were damaged during the surgery. Damaged nerves cause urine incontinence.
