13 YEAR OLD PERIODIC TREMORS RIGHT ARM

by NJRANNEY, Apr 24, 2008 10:23AM
Our 13 year old Daughter since August of 2003 has been experiencing  perodic tremors in her right arm. (from the elbow down to the hand).  They come anywhere from 3-4 times a year.  These tremors start sometimes with a stomache ache.  Her hand shakes (you can feel the muscles and nerves contracting) she is unable to write.  She becomes extremely tired and exhausted.  In the past 5 years she has had MRI's, Cat Scans, blood work (as there is a strep strain in her system, although she has never had strep throat).  She was on a low dose of penicillin for 3 months at a time.  She is seeing a Doctor at our local Sick Childrens hospital -Pediatric Neurologist specializing in Movement disorders, Physiotherapist (Sports Chiropractor), family doctor and her Pediatrician. One time her Tremors started right after having her Hep B shot & recently the 3rd HPV shot. (although all doctors feel this is just a coincidence as it was too short a time frame 5-15 minutes from the time she received the shots and started to tremor).  She is not nervous when getting needles that we have rulled out.
April 2008 (this week) after the HPV shot she started her tremors again.  This time it is slightly different.  She has burning on the inner side of her wrist.  She said if feels like someone is holding a lit match on her wrist.   It has been very hard for us to not have an answer to what this could be.  She is starting High school this year and this could be really hard for her.  The tremors last anywhere form 3 days up to 14 days.  They stop just as fast as they start.
Any ideas or if anyone has heard of the same thing it would be great.  Thanks

Have her checked for Mercury toxicity ( heavy metal) These vaccines often have a preservarive called Thimerasol . This contains some Mercury. I also have tremors and other symptoms. I read that Hep B vaccine can also be related to causing MS but I havenot heard of that in children. Good luck. I pray for her.
