Sensitivity

by astanley28, Apr 24, 2008 11:49AM
My husband has been talking about he is having extreme sensitivity of his penis and that is why he can not last longer then 5mins. He doesn't want to have any four-play because it would end up only lasting a min. This has been going on for a few years now and it is taking its toll on our marriage.  My question is what can we do to make his sensitivity not as bad so I can get off as well as him?

This discussion is related to penis sensitivity and weak ejaculations.

I have just the opposite problem. I had generally good sensitivity, and began taking Celexa, and anti-depressant, and bammo, I have pretty much lost the much of the sensitivity. Celexa has been used an a desensitizing agent thereby prolonging the opportunity to fininsh so to speak. Talk to your doctor about trying Celexa, its cheap, easy to take, and other than THAT "side effect" it had no other problems for me.

Hi,

One thing to consider here is premature ejaculation. For how long has your husband experienced this? Is this a recent condition or has he been experiencing this ever since?
Are there other associated problems like erectile problems or pain in ejaculation?

I suggest that you and your husband seek consult with a sex therapist. This may require further evaluation. Other underlying conditions such as psychological and organic factors have to be excluded. A complete physical examination and a thorough medical history are important in evaluating your husband's case.

For the meantime there is a technique usually done to help delay ejaculation: "the pause technique for the treatment of PE. Masters and Johnson modified this to the pause/squeeze technique in 1970. Patients were advised to cease thrusting or any other penile stimulation at the point at which ejaculation seemed inevitable, forcibly squeeze the glans penis, and then resume activity. The rationale behind this process was to train the man to recognize the typical premonitory sensation immediately preceding ejaculation and, thus, lead to better control."
