Should you exercise spastic muscles?

by oc1dean, Apr 24, 2008 02:04PM
I haven't heard anything definite from either of my therapists or my doctor if I should exercise muscles that are spastic, eg. my bicep, finger flexors. What are others hearing? My thinking is that the more control I get over these muscles I should reduce the uncontrolled spasticity. Has anyone heard of any research on this?

yes we can exercise a spatic muscle.. but first you should have a stretching on that affected extremity.. you can have either, electrical stimulation to the opposite group of muscle to the affected side..meaning.. if you have flexor spasticity, try to stimulate the extensors.. ;
