Glare in left eye after cataract surgery

Hello I have yet another question about what is happening with my eyes after cataract surgery (1st eye done April 2nd, 2nd eye done April 16th). I have a glare out of the left outer corner of my eye that is really annoying - am I seeing the edge of my lens? Also, when I try to stare at something for more than a few seconds my eyes start to "shimmer" - can't think of any other word - and it is as though there is a shaft of light across the center of my eye. I phoned my surgeon's office and they said these symptoms "should" go away. If they don't, what are my options? Thanks. Really regretting getting this done although my doc said I had early onset cataracts and they would have to be removed in a few years anyways.

Thanks Dr Kutryb, that's good news, that these symptoms will likely go away. I had surgery because my surgeon informed me a couple of years ago that I had early onset cataracts and that I would have to get them removed in a few years. I asked him, 20 years, 10 years? and he said no, a few years. So that kind of scared me and that's why I got them out. Maybe should have gotten a second opinion but stupidly I didn't. Guess I'm paying for my hasty decision now.

I'm curious why you had cataract surgery at age 52.  Were your cataracts ready for surgery?  The glare out of the corner will likely go away.  It is probably a reflection off the edge of the implant.  The shimmer is likely related to having an implant and will likely go away as well. You have artificial lenses now and if you are observant enough you can notice things like this but they usually go away in a month or so in about 99% of patients in my experience.
