Ok to wait?

I am 56 , have a high white count 16.5,  ANC 12.8, mono# 1.2, c reative protien 2.24, Cardio CRP 21.3, ALT 51, TSH 2.11, positive for CMV and EBV past exposure. Many other blood test have been done and have been within normal ranges.  A bacterial culture was done, negative.  Blood cancers - negative.  No fevers by the charts but my normal temp runs between 95 and 96.

I have a history of a brain stem lesion (5 years ago,) which was some sort of demylinating thing, and a suspicious lump on my mamogram ( 1 year ago) that 2 weeks later they could not find to biopsy. Sinus surgery in 1995 and a complete historectomy in 1997.   I have had bad headaches and high blood pressure for 5 years, gastritis for the past 2. Double vision and some pain and crusty stuff from my left eye.  The double vision is slight and is a hold over from the brain stem thing.  For the past 7 years I have had problems with muscle fatigue and joint pain and severe stiffness other symptoms that come and go that I chaulk up as part of being alive.  Headache that causes me to get out of bed but subsides when I get up and move around.  My blood pressure goes high when I get a headache.  Lately I bruise very easily and badly.

The latest round of test and a hospitalization came from severe chest pain that I could not ignore and an elevated cardiac enzyme that made it appear I had a heart attack.  Heart cath showed, "not even the expected plaque"  according to the cardiologist.  White count has been steadily climbing since 2002 when it was 11.2 until now 15.7 in March, 16.5 in April.   I've been pretty tired of the whole DR thing since the brain lesion.  Everyone got all excited and then when they couldn't figure out what it was or why I had some of the symptoms I do they pretty much said I was depressed and sent me away.  That's ok it taught me not to get too hung up on this stuff.  I have a great life am retired and spend my time traveling and taking care of our 5 acres in Fl with my husband.  I have accepted that life is terminal but like everyone else I don't want to stamp my ticket any sooner than I have to!

Now a CT scan has shown some problem with my thyroid which is swollen and a bit tender.  I have an appointment with an endocrinologist for July 8 and am planning an extended vacation in May. I have another lump in my neck on the side under the muscle.  The back of my head swells at times right at the top of my neck and I get ferocious sore thoats and ear aches. Infectious disease Doc says allergies.   Blood DR wants to do a bone marrow biopsy just to be sure, which I don't want to do.  Is it ok to wait until July for Endo or should I try to see someone else?  And is a bone marrow biopsy really needed?  Am I going to be in the middle of my vacation with a baseball size goiter on my neck?  Any advice?
Thanks

"pretty much said I was depressed and sent me away.  That's ok it taught me not to get too hung up on this stuff."

Good for you ! Physicians say that sometimes out of desperation. Obviously a high white cell count, liver enzymes, a swollen neck, etc. are not symptoms of "depression".

I honestly don't have any answers for you. But please do see that Endocrinologist and keep seeing as many physicians as it takes. Get copies of all your medical records and then bring them with you when you see a new physician.

Good luck to you !
