Anyone ever have a Pulmonary CTA?

by ladycolpepper, Apr 25, 2008 06:28PM
Just wondering if anyone here has had a Pulmonary CTA? I have to have one and not sure what it is. I thought it was a CT scan and then read on the script it is a CTA. Dr thinks there is a blockage or a clot somewhere.

A CTA is a cat scan angiography. It is just a cat scan (series of x-rays) with a contrast dye to highlight blood vessels of the chest. It allows the doctor to see if you have any pulmonary emboli (blood clot) in your lungs. I had one about a month ago. Blood clots in the lung can cause shortness of breath.
