Can Bi-Polar depression be caused by major dental work ?

I was in the middle of having 9 dental implants and other work dome.about that time I developed severe depression and had to be hospitalized.I am taking medication for Bi-polar but I am not getting better. I am a 74 y.o. F. Anyone have any ideas or some direction I can take ?

no. this is cause by a chemical imbalance in the brain. stress can make the condition worse but not cause it to occur. i would get a second opinion since at your age becoming bipolar is very rare and the medication not working points to you either not being bipolar or the medication needs to be changed or adjusted. if i needed to have all that work done i would be a wreck too! has the work been completed? maybe after everythings over you will start to  feel better on your own. get that second opinion and keep us posted on how you are doing.
