Assuming your child is medically well, and you should be certain of this by consulting with the pediatrician, you should establish a routine of toilet training. Generally such a routine involves rewarding the child each time he/she uses the potty and establishing a regular schedule of using the potty (in adition to when the child might ask to do so). The guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics are very useful. You can read them on the internet
