Methadone Taper/Withdrawal

by nicaber, Apr 27, 2008 04:43PM
I just had a transplant and am completley off the fentanyl lozenges and never got back on them after surgery. I have been weaning off 60mg of methadone and taper it by 5mg each week. Tomorrow is the day that I stop taking it completely. This week has been really rough with the muscle aches and withdrawal feelings. I know baths help a bit, but does anyone have any helpful advice on how to ease the pain? I have been so tired and my eyes have been dilated. I have been kind of battling diabetes with my surgery. it's supposed to go away after a few months, so i'm not sure if some of the symptoms are related, but I couldn't talk a few times because I was so tired. I really want to make this week as painless as possible, so I could use any help whatsoever. I just wish I could sleep through it! I have ambien but i wake up with the aches!!!! Thanks!
