Some potential digestive issues?

by tristantyrcha, Apr 27, 2008 05:00PM
Hello Doctor,

I am a 24 Year old male who for the past 24 months has been a heavy drinker.  Beer only about 15 a day average sometimes more and I would vomit the next day.  I saw mild weight gain the first 17 months. In the last 7 months I went from 185 to 240.  BP is up, Cholesterol..the works.  Any way.  I'm curious as to why when I go #2 usually with in 3 hours of eating, its odor is identical to what I just ate!  It is as if it is skipping the digestive part of the process and coming out.  For example I had a lot of spinach today around 11am CST in the U.S.  SInce then I have went to the bathroom 3 times and Spinach is coming out, it looked as if all I had consumed.  I'm worried there is something wrong.  I was eating the spinach to help my body and I don't think spinach is like corn where parts of it are not indigestible.  I releasing full leaves! If I eat pizza the odor is that of pizza.  Any information would be helpful.  I'm worried my weight gain has something to do with something in my intestines/colong or digestive track not function properly due to all of the beer I have drank.  So my main question is have you heard ot his before?  Food just firing through your body or at least parts of the food in less that 5-6 hours?  I look forward to your response.

Thanks,

TT
