Acne scar and redness

by AA2, Apr 28, 2008 09:34AM
I recently had an incident where I squeezed a pimple between my eyebrows which led to 2 weeks of trouble with ingrown hairs and more acne that laster 2 weeks. It has been 2 months since this cleared up but it still is very sensitive to the touch, leading to redness which can last for an hour. Also, there appears to be some unevenness in the skin now and it is perpetually slightly redder than the rest of my skin. The physical unevenness isn't really the issue because it it so slight, the problem is more that the slight discoloration is always noticeable. Will this scar eventually go away or can I do anything else to help?

My advice would be to
1) leave it completely alone, you're probably irritating it.
2) leave it alone, except for anti-itch hydrocortozone or neosporin

The latter two have always helped get rid of redness/irritation.

I dont have breakouts often but when I do I'm prone to picking/popping which makes things 10x worse.  In other words I'm left with redness alot w/o the actual acne.

Apply Cliniques Post-Blemish formula to heal the blemish and prevent it from returning. This will improve the appearance of it. If scarring remains apply Clinique's Even Better Skin Tone Corrector, which fades the discoloration acne leaves behind. Loiloi x
