Genital Herpes?

by FatallyYours, Apr 28, 2008 05:17PM
For the past day or two, I was experiencing mild itching in my vulva.  Today the itching is gone, but I decided to check out the area to see if anything looked unusual.  I noticed a small tear on my vulva.  I'm not sure how long it's been there.  I don't know whether it was causing the itching or if it occurred as a result of my rubbing the area.  It doesn't hurt.  I have heard that genital herpes can present itself in the form of small cuts.  I have never had any kind of sex (including oral), though I have masturbated before.  Should I be concerned that this may be herpes?

If you've never had any sex before then this isn't herpes.  See your provider to see if anything is going on like vaginitis.

What if I have oral herpes? I don't really know whether I do or not as I have never had a cold sore that I can remember. But hypothetically, if I do, is it possible that I could have spread it to my genitals?

No you aren't going to transmit hsv1 to your genitals yourself.

Vaginitis is quite common in us gals and can cause tears in the skin. So can sensitivities to different products like soaps, detergents, pads, tampons and even good ole toilet paper.  Go get this checked out. It's nothing std.

Thanks for your help!

Actually, one more question. I'm sorry, I promise this is the last one. But what if I turned out to be one of the few people with oral HSV2? Would it then be possible to spread it to my genitals?

You won't be. Autoinoculation doesn't happen. You need to drop this whole thing. You claim you haven't even had sex. How could you have HSV2?  Really. Time to let go now.
