Fibromyalgia

I have really bad muscle and joint pain. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have started having elevated CPK levels and the doctor is talking about doing a muscle biopsy. This has been going on for about 15 years and it is getting worse. I have developed a bad sense of smell it is like a strong sweet/sour smell like a bad doughnut and bad headaches and stiffness in my neck. I have gained around 40 pounds over the last few years because of inability to exercise as I once did and I am struggling with depression. Does all of this go along with the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, or have I just been dumped into a pot because they do not really know what is wrong?

Hi, you should go by doctor’s advice as biopsy is important to rule out muscular dystrophy, myositis, rhabdomyolysis etc. Once, these possibilities are ruled out, probably it is fibromyalgia. What about your other blood tests like ANA, ANCA for autoimmune disease, were they done?
