lymph nodes

by mom2mc, Apr 28, 2008 09:19PM
I have had a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck since October. It is very globular and moves and hadn't gotten any bigger so I blew it off. In February, a chain of swollen lymph nodes started on the left side of my neck and under my jaw. Again, I blew it off because there was so much going around in cold and flu season. I never got sick with anything.
I saw my FP and he agreed that they were enlarged. He ran a CBC, SED rate and TSH, all of which were normal. He recommended a biopsy but I convinced him to try a course of antibiotics to see if it would help. I am almost done with a 14 day course of Levaquin and have not seen any changes.
I'm thinking that the biopsy is next on my list but I can't stand the thought of going through with it. Is there anything else that this could possibly be besides cancer? I have read a bit about autoimmune disorders but they don't seem to fit the profile that I have.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
