posted a post just now that I AM IN YOUR SAME STINKIN' BOAT. grrr. But the bright side is our little bundles just aren't done baking yet.

Geesh girl- if it's not one thing it sure is another! I definitely wouldn't try anything that isn't the more natural thing to do.. and the whole idea of nipple stimulation.. I could not handle that at all.. as if I have the time anyways.. my lord if I had that amount of time I could clean my whole house again and again and then some and be getting plenty of exercise up and down, squatting, walking, arm exercises using the vacuum.. need I say more. I am just plain ole pooped at this point! The only thing I want to do is sleep, but my sister talked me into walking. UGH.. I hope this works!!
Andi--- Peek was actually the first one I PM'ed about this... she pretty much told me that there's no way docs now a days let you go pass 2 weeks... wheeeww!! and that if nothing is moving along by a little after due date, then he'll do something. She also told me to 'attack dh' and to walk a lot! hehehe so that I'll do!
Ashleysmom--- see, i feel the same way!! this is my miracle! i don't wanna risk it! I told him: 'I can pinpoint EXACTLY when I ovulated!... i mean, i'd miss by 12 hours, but I KNOOOOW when it happened, and her due date is correct!' I just want her to be SAFE!!! =S
Patty!!!! where the hell were you?!?!?!?!?!?!? we thought for sure we would be seeing Brayden pictures posted all over your profile by now!!!!!! =)))
How're you feeling girl?!
See, I attacked dh two nights ago... went for a walk... then yesterday took my mother *rolls eyes* shopping... of course it's not much walking there since she stops at about every stinking thing she sees, and came home to eat and went to sleep... couldn't even gather energy to jump dh's bones again! =( so... tonight!!!! tonight will be his lucky night again! lol
That reminds me of the nice babytraining I am getting with Maggie (my dog)....
For some weird a## reason my dog had an accident last night in the middle of the night!!! ON - THE - BED!!!!!!!!!! EEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
Dang dog was so tired and pettered-out from playing with the neighbor's dog that forgot to ask us to go out... slept over and peed on my bed!!!! so in the middle of the night i stick my foot in friggin puddle!!! OH GOSH!!!!! so i jumped out of the bed turned the light on... woke dh's butt up and the thing just went right thru all our sheets and my beloved comforter!!! to the matress!!!! =((((((((
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
So there we are scrubbing damn mattress at 2:30am, dog pee all over the place.... dh stuck our sheets in the washer... (which i just had washed 2 days ago....) and replacing all our covers in a chilli night!!!!
My God, if we passed all this cr#ap with my dog.... WE WILL BE PARENTS NO PROBLEM!!!!
=^... there, i just wanted to vent.... and say: i am proud of myself because i was able to keep my cool and not freak out like with the other incidents.... i guess it's because i knew it was an accident she had... she was so ashamed! you could see her ears all the way down... her tail tucked in.... and her little sad face! =(( aweeeee
Vanessa- I don't blame you for not wanting to wait! A friend of mine just had her baby and he came out 10 lbs 5 oz and was all wrinkly. After her pushing for hours they finally did a section on her... They told her that he was probably 2 weeks over due!! ACK.. I don't want to have a bog baby!!
Good Luck to you and keep on walking.. that's what I'm going to try at this point!
I'm not going to take any chances with this miracle kid. My doc wants to induce at 39 weeks since DD was two weeks late and that ain't good. I don't mind if I have a c/s at all. I just want my baby to get the heck out before the placenta stops working as well.
Good luck to you. Let me know if you find that Utube video URL.
Oh yeah, I had my membranes stripped at 40 weeks with DD to get things moving along. Hurt like hell and didn't do a thing!
Ask Peek, she will know more about this than anyone here. After all, girl has been helping to deliver babies as long as I have been alive.
I had cervadil with all three of mine, muy expensive and most docs go with the cheaper meds.
Anyway, I am a firm believer in the last few weeks as a little preparation for the sleepless nights ahead, though nothing ever really prepares you for that.
And I know it sounds sadistic, but one of the things I miss most are those movements. I remember very vividly after the births of all three boys putting my hand on my belly to feel the movement without realizing it. You really do miss it.
She will be here when her time is right.
*I am now officially the the white trash of the neighborhood with the grass to long to cut as my dh is a city boy and has no desire to cut it and just says... it can wait until I am done with the baby room haha*
hmmm... Meli.... where have i heard that before... let's see... hmmm......
i got that same excuse but not only for cutting the grass... but for getting some a....
never mind...
Hey Montie darlin'!!!! hehehe how's that little bubs of yours!!! and momma? are you recovering well then?? im so glad to hear that! man... as scary as it sounds, really, i prefer a c-section than being HOURS pushing and getting nowhere... baby squished and me screaming!! lol
I actually do not mind surgeries at all... i was shaking with my first... but after all that pampering i got... i don't mind them! ;)
I know the time will come.... some way or another.... i am being such a whiner! seeing all you guys delivering and holding your little ones and posting pictures is making me agonize over my little one being in my arms! i long for her so badly... i love feeling her kicking me and pushing me and stretching... she's getting soooo big!! i mean, my belly sticks out like a mountain! i had to put both hands under it and criss-cross my fingers at the bottom supporting it last night that i went for a walk! it's so heavy! and felt so good...
She's so strong too! my ribs can tell you.....
alikat, i'll google cytotec, it's always good to know!
Montie
You are very lucky, because I felt all of those things with my c/s.
Vanessa,
Oh my, I know you are ready and desperate. I was too and was only 37 wks when I delivered. I have heard that there is a massage that can be done when you get a pedicure that is supposed to bring on labor and actually a girl I know in beauty school says they learn it there.
About the c-sections, don't worry. I have had all my children that way. The first one after hours of labor and not getting anywhere, I was begging for it! hee, hee. This last one was pretty much a breeze. I was out of the hospital in less than 48 hours. I bonded and nursed and never felt depressed or that I didn't bond with any of my babies.
You and baby will be fine, either way it goes!! Hang in there!
there are different tablets, but cytotec is one and you should ask what you are getting, b/c that one is very dangerous.
oh my dh freaked out when I cut the grass about 6 weeks ago... not allowed to do that anymore.. so I am now officially the the white trash of the neighborhood with the grass to long to cut as my dh is a city boy and has no desire to cut it and just says... it can wait until I am done with the baby room haha
but the tablet thing I talked about was done by a dr. 8 hours before pitocin... just to get the cervix softened... no contractions with it just some cramps...
heheheh i am sure it doesn't taste as good! you have no excuse now right?! ;)
I have no problem eating real hot salsa! yum!!! i love it! as for the cutting grass.... i'd end up torpedo-ing Maddie out from the serious sneeze attack i'd get!!! lol ;)
Although I'm sure no one will recommend it...I cut the grass and ate really spicy food along with the walking, BDing (including the bbs), to get things going. Never had any problems.
Good luck!!!
HA HA... you guys are crazy!!!
vesent... It will happen.....when you least expect it... give it time. Its almost over for you,so enjoy what time you have left. the food just doenst taste as good after the baby is out. so eat... and get spoild!!
Hey girl!!! thank you!! I knew nipple stim. was not as safe as it sounded.... i know they do that while the stress test to see if baby is, obviously, under stress.. so, how do i know if she is or not if im doing it in my house???
I do agree... walking my cottage cheese off and jumping on dh's bones will at least take my mind off of dumb things and anxiety! lol
Not getting much sleep here anyway... i can't take naps now, my house is hectic... trying to bd with dh is almost like a late night chore... and walking up 50 times to go pee and to try to load the belly up and unload it on the other side when i roll to the sides is a whole entire process of grabbing belly, scoot butt, scoot shoulders, grab belly, scoot butt a little more, scoot shoulders more.... till i get to the other side... bring one knee up to create a space for belly to hang... then Maddie wakes up and decides she doesn't like mommy's position... so i need to start the entire process all over again....
That's ok tho, i love to feel her more and squirm around!!! i'd never get over that!!! =) (squirming as i am typing.... aweeee)
OH GOSH!!!!! no nasty oil then, it is!!!!!!!!!!! =S see? i really don't wanna drink/take anything. Teas and pills and oils.. and all that just don't sound too safe... i rather do the natural things like walking, (fun fun! =/) sex, and trying to get a big O every time....(yeah, good luck with that!).
I'll try to drag my behind tonight to the sidewalk and take Maggie-poo with me. My dad really loves walking too so that'll be fun again. =)
ps. i just read another one: try giving some 'oral treatment' to your man and .... hmmm.... swallow. Those prostaglandins are supposedly better absorbed thru the gut than thru the 'basement'....
oh gosh!!! i don't know what sounds more gross...... i was never a good swallower! lol!!!!!
NO castor oil, no nipple stim unless direct supervision of a medical professional WHILE being monitored, same with the pressure point massage. They may work, but they may also lead to dire consequences.
I know how much you want baby here, but please please please please please don't use any of the methods I listed above. in fact, the only thing I recommend is sex and walking. And everyone is right, if your body is not ready, induction is a waste of time, money, and will likely end up in a c-section. That may not sound bad now, but after 24 hours of tryin induction to then go in for a c-section and then jump right into being the mother a newborn is not a walk in the park.
Be patient, enjoy these last few nights of sleep. You won't be able to sleep on your own terms for years to come after she is here.
I agree, no castor oil. My labor went on way too long with my son and he ended up passing meconium and aspirated on both the meconium and amniotic fluid and was in the hospital for 10 days with double pneumonia. I would not chance the castor oil.
v do NOT use castor oil. it hasnt proved it will work, it is in the air still, it also could possibly cause the baby to poop and you know merconium is dangerous if the baby takes it in. that is my opinion anyway. really a safer alternative is sex, walking, and if you are starting to have contractions and are due then maybe massage on the pressure points in the ankles. however if yo udo that and you arent ready, you might just end up with contractions that arent productive ones just painful for days haha. you just never know, i was perfectly fine when i went to bed then 4am bam!! water broke! i hope this happens for you :)
as for a c./section girl you are walking like 8 hours after. i had two, having one after pushing for hours is hard but having one scheduled isnt. i say try to have it vaginally , even though i hear stories about tearing i will always wish i could have experienced pushing one of my babies out , im insane right?
no castor oil for you girl...
Castor oil
(same as above, also ends constipation/induces runs, but can be very effective with stripping)
&endash; serve in orange juice, root beer float or other drink; 1-4 Tbsp in drink (in 2 doses)
The problem I've heard of with castor oil (besides making you miserable and not always working) is that it can cause the baby to pass meconium in the uterus because the castor oil causes a relaxation of sphincters.
*Gingerbeer shake &endash; Put 2 oz. Castor oil in 4oz. Of ginger beer, place your hand over top of the glass tightly, shake it up, and immediately chug it down (remember doing "slammers" in our young and foolish days in college???). If no labour within 4 hours, may repeat x1.
The Gingerbeer "fizz" suspends the oil, so when you chug it down you don't notice the "gloppy" taste of the oil.
ehehehe ewwwww!!!!! ok... i'll probably do that on the weekend then! don't wanna 'put a show' here in my office since i can't run anymore! lol
I guess all i can do for now is just get dh to do his 'homework' as often as possible?!?!?! and go for walks... (oh, and make sure i get my big O every time! lol)... and I'll see if i can get the castor oil for my fun weekend in the potty....
I will see what the doctor says on monday, maybe seeing my little one not stressing will put me more at ease with the whole overdue situation....??
Thank you for sharing girls! i've heard is not uncommon for us first timers.... im just really really uneasy thinking about that placenta aging! =S
I also heard black cohosh???
I always deliver past my due date. My 1st was 42 weeks and my 2nd was 41. Babies were fine, 8.5lbs and 7.9 lbs. I have to be induced and generally deliver within 20 hours. I always wanted a c/s until I was told vaginally is much better for the baby and their lungs. Good luck to you. I can't wait to see the pictures!
yuck I feel for you castor oil is nasty but you do drink it....
