Irregular Cycle After Stopping Meds

by candie429, Apr 29, 2008 10:20AM
As some of you may know, I was on Clomid for 4 cycles and was then switched to Femara for 4 cycles.  I have unexplained fertility and since we didn't end up with our BFP, we've decided to give my body a break from the drugs for a few months.

Anyway, my 1st unmedicated cycle is starting out a little strange.  AF arrived last Wednesday (let's call that Day 1).  I had heavy flow on Days 1 & 2, but then went to brown spotting for days 3, 4, and 5.  It started switching back to bright red late on day 5 and now for the past 2 days (days 6 & 7) I've been having red bleeding again.  Nothing real heavy, but it's there when I wipe and there's been some in the toilet.  Did anyone ever have anything like this?  Before I started the meds (and while I was on them), AF has always been long gone by now.

Any thoughts will be much appreciated.  Take care and best of luck to you all!  :)

I had that off and on after I stopped Clomid. I spotted for several days, which I never do then had a light flow day again. It only did it that one cycle. I didn't put it on my chart at ff because it kept wanting to start my cycle over again. I did have a cyst then. I don't know if it had anything to do with it.

Thanks for sharing your experience.  I assume that it's just maybe my body trying to adjust and get back to normal without all the extra hormones, but it makes you worry a little.  I'm back to brown spotting today, so hopefully it will all be gone by tomorrow.  Thanks again!
