Hi.  Urine culture is a test used to determine the specific microorganism involved in cases of urinary tract infection.  It is not in any way helpful in detecting cancer.  Urinalysis is useful for diagnosing a variety of diseases, but does not directly diagnose cancer.  Gross blood in the urine may hint at a bleeding tumor in the bladder or kidneys, but this finding by itself is not indicative of cancer, and may connote other conditions (e.g. urinary stones) as well.  Such an abnormal finding would prompt the doctor to do further testing (e.g. imaging studies like ultrasound or CT scan) which may or may not lead to a diagnosis of cancer.
