removing spots from face

by brentlie, Dec 05, 2006 12:00AM
Has any one used fade cream to remove spots from there face?  I have a few freckles on my face but last year I noticed one getting big and it is continuing to get bigger and darker.  Some one told me to get fade cream from Walmart and it would take it away.  I am pregnant and I am kind of scared to try it.

always check with your dr before using those kinds of cream. there are brands that do work. my ex and i rode harleys. well almost everyone has a nice scar on their leg from a burn from the pipes. my friend used it and it faded the scar wonderfully!! i guess its a guess which ones work and dont work.

Show the spot to your doctor.

Anything you put on your skin is absorbed into your system.  Don't put anything on your skin while you are pregnant!

Thanks I will ask my Dr. at my next appointment!

the active ingredient that fades scars and spots is 'hydro- quionine'. not sure if that is spelled correctly, but you can get it from the doc, over the counter, and it may be in skin creams like the one you mentioned. avon carries it too. it is about one of the only medical ingredients that can fade spots.

NOT to scare you (and when you are pregnant everything seems heightened and scarier) but did you know that melanoma (skin cancer) is the leading cause of cancer death among women ages 25-29.  This year alone, about 7,800 men and women in the United States will die of skin cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. Melanoma is now second only to lung cancer as the leading cause of cancer in women ages 30-34.

Please, as you said, don't forget to show your doctor!  It worries me that you said it has gotten bigger and darker.

I've gotten more freckles recently, and I just bought a fade cream called Ambia (I think). I'll look at it tonight. I'll let you know in 2 months if it's worked (that's how long it's supposed to take)!!!

I've got some acne scars on my face.  Not deep pits, just light brownish spots.  Does fade cream work on these? Is there on you could recommend?

by Aruba417, Dec 21, 2006 12:00AM
Okay, the fade cream I use is called Ambi.

MariAAB, fade cream claims to lighten scars as well. I really don't know for sure, though. I THINK I'm starting to notice a SLIGHT lightening of my freckles. I say "I think" because I'm not sure if I'm imagining things or not. ha ha.

I am delighted to find an established skin care company that understands the fundamentals of skin aging and how to treat it. FARMEC (aslaskin,, their US distributor) is a Romanian cosmetics company and has been around for 60 years. This is the original formula and the quality is great!!
