Vaginal pain after monarch sling surgery

by ppmom1124, Apr 29, 2008 06:43PM
I had the monarch sling surgery 7 weeks ago. I continued to have vaginal pain (both pressure and a feeling of heat/irritation) and saw my doctor several times in the subsequent days and weeks after my surgery. I was told that the sling had eroded through the vaginal wall. I opted to have the piece that had eroded excised, and went in for another surgery last week. When the doctor(s) (now there were 2 involved) examined me, (after I was unconscious), they said that nothing was sticking out. They spoke with my husband, and decided not to cut, since they didn't see anything to cut. I was told to "resume normal activities" and go back and see her in 4 weeks. I'm still hurting. What can I expect as far as recovery time? Does the fact that there is "healing" (i.e. nothing sticking out) mean that I have grown scar tissue around the piece of the sling that had eroded? I have made appts. for second opinions but it will be weeks before I can get in. Good news: I'm not wetting my pants. Bad news: I'm coming home from work every day and spending the rest of the day on the couch. Please advise.
