Heavy Bleeding/ Clots during period

I have had a period for 7 years now. I just recently (tonight) read about something that made me ask about this question...
I have alway had heavy bleeding, a period that lasts for 4-5 days, and clotting just about every period ever since I have had my period. 1-2 years ago I suffered from anemia, I haven't been tested recently but I get some symptoms of anemia here and there.
I always thought this is normal... but from what I read, clotting, heavy bleeding, and anemia (all of the above together) isn't too healthy. All my paps have been normal, I have never brought any of this up to my gyno since I thought this was ok. The clots aren't too big- maybe a lil bigger than the size of a pencil eraser.
Also, I am on my period now, when I first started I passed a LOT of blood (Came gushing out when I used the bathroom, with a small clot in it) maybe about a handful. Thats not normal for me... anything to worry about?
