MRI results

by Suzie9, Apr 30, 2008 05:29AM
I have had Paraesthesia around my spine for over a year. After some physio i was referred for an MRI on my spine.First results,i was told, were abnormal.I then had another MRI on spine and Brain. This apparantly showed up high attenuation consistant with demyelination.
After seeing my Neouroligist i was informed the lesions appeared less on the second scan.Is this consistant with M.S?I have also not had any other M.S. symtoms.
Also in my past i have taken drugs including Ecstasy and cocaine.[Not frequently].I collapsed once after taking Ecstasy[one tablet],Is it possible this could account for my scan results?

Hi Suz,

Welcome to the forum.  I'm sorry for what you are going through, and wanted to commend you for sharing your experiences with us, very brave.  Not sure about parasthesia and what it involves.  Your Neuro ordering other tests? He/she should be.  We cannot tell if you have MS of course, but can help you know more about what they will do to find out.

Hang in there, you'll find this place very supportive.
be well,
SL

p.s. Don't you go taking any of that "other" stuff again, now you here?  You have some things going on or you wouldn't of reaced out to us, and you don't need any outside influence adding to the problem - k??? Saying this w/love and care, I hope you'll understand. ...hang in there.

Hi,

Thanks for message. My neurologist is ordering other tests. The usual i think, like eye tests, lumbar puncture and i've had blood tests which came back normal.
Other than the tingling in my spine the only other symptom i seem to have is stress! with the worry of being told it may be M.S.
I was also told Devic's disease is a possibility or infection?!
Oh,don't worry,i don't touch any drugs anymore.I'm a responsible Mum of two now so am on my best behaviour!

Hi there,

No problem, And, you posted correctly (the other came into my personal mail), and I responded, but think you've got the hang of it now.

- So glad to see these tests are lined up.  Don't stress out, all will be okay.  You and your Dr are on the right track I think.  That tingling in the spine is weird.  I've gotten that the past few months.  I have it every day now.  I really don't know what the heck it is, really.  Just hope it goes the heck away!

It's hard to sit tight, I know.  But, you are in good hands here, and we'll help you out along the way!

Again, welcome Suzie, hang in there girl!
