Just back from second Beta/HCG test

140 is the magic number I am looking for.  They said they will call me this afternoon, so at least I don't have to wait too long for results. It its 140, I will start to relax knowing things are doubling.  Then I am going to go friday again, just because it puts my mind at ease to watch it go up.  But like I have been saying, I think this time things are going to be ok.   I sure hope so, because I'm not sure if I can do this again if it doesn't.  Please little bean, grow strong and stick with me !!  Keep your fingers crossed for me please.  I can use all the positive thoughts I can get!!  

Oh, and the tech was far more pleasant this time.  Told me the reason they wouldn't give me a confirmation on the 70 was because its so early. Still doesn't make sense to me, but I can live with it.

adgal please dont be annoyed that they wont give you a positive first time. Alot of OB wait until the second beta to give you a positive because even at 70 it may not double in 48-72 hrs.It needs to show a rise to be a viable pregnancy.

I'm sitting here staring at the phone as we speak, willing it to ring.  If I dont' hear in a 1/2 hour or so, I am going to call them.  They called right around this time monday, so I am hoping any minute.

So I called them just now, although I had told myself to wait another half hour.  But just as I was typing last post, DH called wanting to know also if I had heard.  The tech didnt' have it in front of her, but she said she remembered me, and remembered seeing the report, and it was around 135 she thought.  So not a total double, but is that close enough do you think?  Now I am all worried again.

Relax  there is no "strict code" on doubling.  your numbers are great.  Relax and enjoy it!!!

I should add, the blood tests were almost exactly 48 hours apart.  The first one, which was 70, was at 10:30 am monday, today was at 10:15 am, and about 135 (she couldn't tell me exactly, which is making me nuts).  If I remember correctly, they are supposed to double 48 to 72 hours, correct?  So this should be fine?

Thanks for all the kind messages everyone, I sure appreciate the support, it means alot to me.  And thanks for the gentle "shove" meli, you were right, I needed to set my mind at ease (Hey, thats twice today I agreed with you...lol, joking).

I know, I asked her too, but she said she was too swamped.  But she did say they felt good about the number, and she remembered something like 135.  I want to know the exact number, so she said she would give me a call in the morning.  I don't like the idea of someone giving me a number from memory, know what I mean.  I can't wait to see my ob/gyn on the 9th.  I just don't like this Dr's office.   I just looked up beta/hcgs on the web, and they said should double every 48 to 72 hours, so I think so far so good.  Plus, no spotting or anything so far, and I feel better in general.  I really think its going to be ok this time.
