Is this Acid Reflux?

This is alot of information but I thought it would help you out more to know.  On the 15th I was diagnosed with a Sinus infection and bronchitis.  I started taking Avelox, Allegra D & a cough medicine.  On the 19th the doctor gave me Tamiflu because my boyfriend had a strain of the flu, I also switched back to my regular dose of Allegra instead of the Allegra D because I couldn't sleep.  On the 20th I was nauseous all day and couldn't eat, same thing on the 21st.  I had a feeling of alot of mucus in my throat, also I felt when I needed to cough I also needed to have a bowel movement.  On the 22nd I called the doctor and they told me to stop taking the Tamiflu.  On the 24th my doctor did a chest and stomach xray and bloodwork and everything came back normal.  At this time I had finished my antibiotic and he started me on Protonix 40mg for acid reflux and also prescribed Carafe to take before meals and bed.  The nausea is better but I have no appetite.  Every now and then by evening I can eat a little for dinner but not always.  I've never had heartburn or stomach issues really so I wasn't sure if this is really acid reflux or GERD.  I still have the fullness feeling in my throat and upper chest and am very concerned about he loss of appetite.  I have always loved to eat.  Can you tell me your thoughts.  Thank you.

Hi lah9443,
Infections may cause loss of appetite. It may take sometime to get the normal appetite after treating the infection.

Loss of appetite is also a side effect of avelox that you have taken.

I would suggest that you continue with Protonix as prescribed by your doctor.

Confirmation of GERD is by 24 hours pH monitoring.
