Do I have incontinence?

by RaisinGirl, Apr 30, 2008 04:26PM
Hello doctor. I am a 31 year old female(no children) and I have had one or two episodes where I have leaked a tiny amount of urine when sneezing and vomiting. No more than half a teaspoon if I had to guess. I figured this was somewhat normal because of the pressure of me bearing down at those times. I also leak a very small amount during sex. I recently began researching the subject of incontinence and I realized that sometimes when I start my shower and touch the water while waiting for the water temperature to heat up, I feel a strong urge to urinate, however I DO NOT leak any urine. I read that this could be urge incontinence and I am now really scared as I have not had any kids, surgeries or any of the other benign causes of this. Does the fact that this is going on with me guarantee that there is a neurological cause such as MS? Could it be normal to have these urges with a healthy bladder? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
