I did some research for you looking at the Natural Medicines Comprehensive Datatbase

Bai Shao, Mu Dan Pi, **** Gui, Sheng Jiang--all have anticoagulant, antiplatelet and antithrombotic effects. Theoretically combining them with any anti-coagulant therapy may increase the risk of bleeding. So if they are on any western anticoagulants, I would suggest that they are contraindicated to take these herbs in combination.
