Bleeding after D and C

by stalky, Apr 30, 2008 05:53PM
My friend recently lost her baby at 16 weeks. She delivered the fetus and subsequently had a d and C. It is now three weeks later and she is still bleeding. As well she passed what appeared to be tissue accompanied by cramping. Is it possible that products of conception were still left inside after the D and C? Or could she possibly have gotten her period ?

Yes, your ideas are correct. It could be some tissue ie products of conception or just blood clots. I doubt that she got her period but that is also possible. To make sure, I would suggest that she see her doctor.
