my sister got in an accident and she got a 3 mm wide gash on the chin that she had to get stitches on. now the stitches are off and she has a big lump on her chin on the side where the stitches were. is this normal or does she need to get it looked at. is there anything i can get her to help make the lump disappear faster?

Since this is a recent injury, the best treatment would be application of silicone gel sheeting to the area. The lump is a result of early swelling and early scar formation. Even with no treatment, the lump will most probably disappear with time.
