growths in pubic region??

by seekinghelp122, Apr 30, 2008 10:58PM
About four months ago i noticed a growth in my pubic region. At first i didnt think anything of it as i thought it was just an in-grown hair. As time continued to pass more and more of these growths started to appear.

Before this i performed unprotected sex two times with the one female i was seeing.

I now have numerous of these small growths ( some skin tag like) and one or two larger pea size ones..the larger ones are very much so elevated off the skin and seem to have four small whitehead like things in each corner. All of the growths are in my pubic region with only a few at the very base of my base penis. I became very worried as i became to think of them as genital warts. Recently i went to a walk-in sex clinic to be examined. after waiting in the lobby for over an hour i was taking back to be examined. The "doc" walked in and examined me right away and within seconds said i have genital warts. I simply asked what i was supposed to do as i was in disgust with myself. the "doc" said "well its closing time so make an appointment and come back next week" and left me sitting in the room alone feeling hopeless. I have no idea what to do.

But i stil feel as if they could not be be genital warts but perhaps im in denial. My daily routine for a long period of time consisting of heavily working out and then directly going to the tanning bed before showering...is it possible this could be the cause? or maybe it is from shaving? or are they in fact warts? I plan seeking medical attention from my doctor very soon.

any information is much appreciated

These sound like a classic case of genital warts, probably the reason why the doctor was able to diagnose them so quickly.  But that's a tad unprofessional of him to dismiss you so easily.  There are many treatments available to treat genital warts- from surgical, cryotherapy, TCA, prescribed creams, and others.  Make another appointment as your doctor advised and they'll probably begin one of these treatments.
