Woke up with my throat and lungs burning

I woke up unexpectedly this morning with my throat on fire, as well as my lungs when when I breathed in. I ran went to the bathroom and started spiting a lot. It felt like snot and saliva. Then I threw-up. It was watery and looked like blood. (I'm not sure if it was actually blood) I have reflux but haven't gone to a doctor to get it looked at again in over 3 years (No insurance). I take Zantac 150 when it flares up.
I went to bed feeling fine. The burning has calmed some what in the last half hour, still feel snotty. Last time I blew my nose the snot was the same color as my throw up. I'm also burping a lot and I'm gassy.
Any ideas?

Hi burtmakai,
Since you felt burning sensation and also not sure whether it is blood that you threw up, I would suggest that you undergo an upper GI endoscopy to see what really caused it.
Till then you may take PPI twice a day.

PPI stands for proton pump inhibitors which suppress acid secretion.
There are various PPI which have similar efficacy.
