toddlers and fever blisters

by jpsmom448, May 01, 2008 08:11AM
Hello everyone.  I need to start off telling you that I have OCD and I really freak out when it comes to spreading germs.  I have a fever blister which I get three or four times a year.  I am a nut when I have them.  I won't change my daughter's diaper unless I absolutly have to (my husband or someone does it for me) and I wash my hands constantly.  So I am super safe about it.  Last night I was uncareful and left my drinking glass sitting on the coffee table.   I went and started the dishes and laundry and about ten to fifteen minutes later my daughter grabbed my glass and while we didn't see her do it I am sure she drank out of it since she always does.  It was my first day of the fever blister and no oozing but I am sure it's still contagous.  So he's my question.  How big of a deal is this really?  My fear is that she'll get one on her mouth and spread it to her private area or to other children.  It's really hard for me to tell the difference in whether I am worried due to my ocd or if I REALLY should be worried.  Please help!!!
