sinus infections

by Deb1438, May 01, 2008 02:28PM
I am 70 years old and have recurrent sinus infections.  Last month was Psuedomonis and it got better with Cipro.  This week its MRSA and I am on Eriithromycin.   What can cause recurrent infections  I go swimming at the gym everyday in warm water pool.

It would be unusual for these 2 bacteria to originate in the swimming pool water.  It is possible that you harbor these bacteria in your nose – that is, you are a carrier, and that they are washed up, into your sinuses during swimming.

You might want to check with your doctor about the likelihood of carrier status and ask if wearing a nose clip and goggles might be helpful.
