Red spots on Penis.

by Londonbloke, May 01, 2008 02:31PM
Dear Sir / Madam,

I first noticed tiny red marks appearing on my penis around 3 years ago. They were (and are) situated under the Glans. I showed them to a Doctor and he concluded they were 'nothing to worry about'.

Since then they have been getting bigger, albeit very slowly. They are blood red in colour, flat, do not hurt, peel or weep. I have included some pictures for you to see:

I wanted your opinion on them and if you think there is anything that can be done. Could they be a yeast infection? Burst blood vessels? If they are of no medical significance I would still like them removed as they are cosmetically displeasing and I do not want them to continue to grow.

I am circumcised for your information. The procedure was carried out during my early childhood for medical reasons.

Awaiting your reply anxiously.

Certainly not a yeast infection.  Blood vessels, perhaps left over from surgery, are possible, but the photos are too blurry for me to be sure.  In any case, I am confident that these spots have no medical significance, as was the doctor who examined you.  It is possible that laser treatment might be safe and effective to remove them for cosmetic purposes.  I suggest that you consult a dermatologist with capabilities in laser surgery to  ask about this.

Best.
